Open Access-Journals Universität Paderborn
Die Universitätsbibliothek (UB) unterstützt Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler sowie Einrichtungen der Universität Paderborn bei der Herausgabe eigener (Diamond) Open Access-Journals. Die UB nutzt dazu den Infrastrukturservice „Open Journal Systems (OJS)“.
OJS ist die weltweit bekannteste Software zur Verwaltung und Veröffentlichung wissenschaftlicher Journals. Mit ihr kann durch ein detailliertes Rechtemanagement und verschiedene Rollen (Zeitschriftenverwalter, Redakteur, Rubrikredakteur, Lektor, Gutachter, Autor, Leser) der gesamte Publikationsprozess eines Journal-Artikels abgebildet werden.
Die UB nutzt die OJS-Infrastruktur, die das Hochschulbibliothekszentrum des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (hbz) allen staatlich geförderten Hochschulen in NRW, die Teil der DH.NRW sind, zur Verfügung stellt. Rechtliche Basis dieser Nutzung ist eine zwischen der Universität Paderborn und dem hbz im Juli 2024 abgeschlossene Kooperationsvereinbarung.
Die UB richtet für die Herausgeberinnen und Herausgeber eines Journals einen Zugang zum OJS ein und unterstützt bei der Anpassung und Einarbeitung in das System sowie bei der Neueinrichtung eines Journals bzw. hilft bei der Migration/Überführung bestehender Journals in das OJS. Sie legt mit den Herausgeberinnen und Herausgebern einen Workflow fest, so dass diese die Veröffentlichung neuer Jahrgänge, Hefte und Artikel selbständig durchführen können. Auch im laufenden Betrieb steht die UB den Herausgeberinnen und Herausgebern beratend zur Seite. Die UB sichert die Nachhaltigkeit der publizierten Inhalte und sorgt für deren größtmögliche Sichtbarkeit.

sustain, the Journal of Sustainability and Futures in Music Education, is committed to shaping the present and to promote music educational scholarly discussion on a sustainable and participatory society as well as on cultural diversity. Moreover, it actively encourages the articulation of potential implications for the future in order to contribute to the scientific foundation of futures studies in music education.
The editorial board is dedicated to continually scrutinizing publication and peer-review formats as well as ethical questions in publishing, connecting them to social and technological transformations, and regards Open Science as an integral component of scholarly quality assurance.
sustain situates itself at the intersections of music education, cultural studies, and futures research. Its aims to
• document current trends in music cultures within the context of global challenges and evolving political, economic, ecological, technological, and social conditions,
• relate these trends to contemporary conceptions in music education and educational theory,
• envision possible futures for music cultures, including learning and educational cultures, and
• publish innovative practices and approaches that build bridges between music education and other disciplines and research fields, contributing to the creation of a sustainable future.
The target audience includes music educators across diverse contexts (e.g., K–12 schools, community music, and higher-education programs; cultural education initiatives; research settings) as well as scholars interested in learning- and educational-theoretical perspectives on musical cultures from other fields, for example, futures studies, popular music research, biographical research, and discourse analysis. In doing so, the journal seeks to foster an interdisciplinary approach to musical education.
